Rome, 16 September 2026 – A milestone spanning five centuries of the history of Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta, a historic company based in Gardone Val Trompia and one of the oldest manufacturing enterprises still operating in the world. This issue, a €5 silver coin, celebrates Italy’s long industrial tradition, highlighting the technological evolution and continuity of production that have characterised the company’s history over the centuries.

Struck in Proof quality and weighing one ounce, the coin interprets this anniversary through an essential yet highly symbolic design, recalling the bond between the local territory and its manufacturing heritage, while at the same time offering an institutional and cultural tribute to Italian manufacturing excellence.

The obverse, enhanced with coloured elements, depicts Beretta’s historic headquarters, accompanied by the inscription “GARDONE VAL TROMPIA”, the geographical and identity-based heart of the company. The reverse features the official Beretta logo at its centre, surrounded by a decorative motif that enhances its shape and graphic balance.

The €5 coin “500th Anniversary of the Foundation of Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta”, issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, was designed by engraver Emanuele Ferretti and struck by Zecca dello Stato.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Obverse: at the centre is the historic headquarters of Beretta. Below appears the name of the town where the company is based, “GARDONE VAL TROMPIA”. Beneath it is the designer’s signature, “E. FERRETTI”. Around the border is the inscription “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA”.
